Vipers SC's Brazilian acquisition Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez has sent a daunting warning to defenders in the Uganda Premier League, to be ready for what he has in the ammunition ahead of next season.

The 33 year-old has vowed to give his best for the Venoms at every opportunity he gets, as well as proving a menace to the backlines.

"Goals, fight, hard work, I never give up, so I really give it my best," the lanky forward spoke of his prowess in his first interview with the club.

"I don't worry about the center-backs, whether they are tall or not, there is no worry because I believe in me (myself)," he added.

"What I can say for the center-backs in Uganda; I'm here, nice to meet you, my name is Giancarlo," he posed what felt a warning.

While he hails from a reknown footballing nation, Rodriguez has featured for lowly Brazilian sides and teams around Asia, particularly in Malaysia.

He however is not focused on the aforementioned status, as he feels all that will matter will be the input to the team.

"I am not a big star, I'm here to play football, so I hope I can make (score) many goals because that's my position. If I can score goals, I know I can become the big striker here."

"This is very important for me, right now I'm here. The vibe here is very good, so I'm happy to be here," Rodriguez added.

Meanwhile, he will have to fend off opposition from other forwards including Cromwell Rwothomio, Yunus Sentamu, Karim Ndugwa, Desire Tety, among others.
