Vipers Sports Club assistant coach Lukusa Kayembe Raoul took charge of the team’s training sessions on Friday, July 7 as the club’s head coach Alex Isabirye was conspicuously absent at Kitende.
A reliable source has intimated to Pulse Uganda Sports that Isabirye’s future at Vipers SC is in doubt after the tactician’s absence in Kitende on Friday.
Other than the training session, the management had reportedly called for a meeting at the club with key technical stakeholders expected to attend.
However, the newly crowned StarTimes coach of the season 2022/23, Isabirye was absent.

The source alleges that Isabirye’s absence forced the organizers of the meeting to call it off amidst reports that Kayemba, the Congolese tactician would step in his shoes ahead of the 2023/24 season.
To fuel further speculation, Kayembe took charge of the team’s training sessions on Friday.
Speaking about rumours of his exit recently, Isabirye affirmed that he is still in charge: "There are so many rumours going around that I have left the job, resigned, this and that," he told the team, in a video released by the club.

It seems like a tumour that will not just go away. Despite Alex Isabirye's concerted effort to address his future at Vipers, reports keep on linking him to an exit from the club.
"That's their (reporters) job, because if they don't do that, where will they get money for feeding their kids," he mocked.
"So, let's concentrate here, let's work, let's do the job," Isabirye rallied his charges.
Isabirye reportedly has a two-year -contract with Vipers SC after joining them mid-last season, guiding them to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and the Stanbic Uganda Cup, their maiden domestic double in history.
