Asiku has previously featured for Uganda's U-17 and U-20 teams and still has a lot of time to fulfil the potential he promised as a teenager.
Wakiso Giants have confirmed the capture of Vipers SC defender Bashir Asiku.
The Purple Sharks made the announcement Saturday evening through their social media channels.
“Ladies and gentlemen, he is here and he is purple. Welcome Bashir Asiku,” Wakiso posted on Saturday.
Asiku joins a host of players who have joined John Luyinda Ayala’s side in this particular transfer window.
The Wakiso-based side announced Sand Cranes captain Baker Lukooya on Friday and have also added Samson Kigozi, Mark Nsubuga, Blancha Mulamba and Muhammad Ssenoga.
Asiku is a St Mary's Secondary School Kitende graduate, which is also Vipers' main feeder side and has never played for any other team other than the Kitende side.

FOOTBALL Uganda Premier League: First 10 fixtures you cannot afford to miss
Rogers Mato's sole goal won it for the Kasasiro Boys last season, but it was Milton Karisa's late strike in the second-round fixture that pretty much handed Vipers the title.
He has previously featured for Uganda's U-17 and U-20 teams and still has a lot of time to fulfil the potential he promised as a teenager.
At Vipers, Asiku found playing time hard to come by due to injuries, alleged indiscipline and the stiff competition for places at the Startimes Ugada Premier League champions.
