Jose Mourinho is back to his old tricks as he used a ball boy to deliver a tactical message to Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio during the 1-1 draw against Fiorentina.
Roma secured a 1-1 draw at home to Fiorentina in a difficult match which they had to navigate despite being down to nine men for a decent amount of time.
Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring after just five minutes and would get sent off in the 87th minute reducing Roma to nine after Nicola Zalewski picked up his second yellow card in the 64th minute.
Roma were struggling to hold on to the point with two men down which is when manager Jose Mourinho resorted to old tricks in a bid to keep his team focused despite their numerical disadvantage.

The Portuguese manager asked a ball boy on the sidelines to pass a note which had instructions written on it, to AS Roma goalkeeper Patricio in the 89th minute of their match against Fiorentina, shortly after Lukaku's red card.
Mourinho clearly scribbled the instructions on a piece of paper and handed it to the ball boy who ran straight to Patricio in goal and gave him the note before a goalkick.
It is unclear what the instruction on the paper was but it is safe to say that it worked as Roma survived the rest of the game with nine men and held on to their point.

The veteran football coach has a history of quirky and controversial moments like this which contributes greatly to his overall persona of likeability.
Despite dropping two crucial points against Fiorentina, Mourinho's side have managed to hold on to the fourth position on the league table as they now have 25 points from 15 matches, 13 less than league leaders Inter.
