The Muhoroni-based side extended their halftime break by 20 minutes.

Following the bizarre clash against AFC Leopards that saw the halftime break extend by 20 minutes, Wazito head coach Charles Odera explained why his team took long to return for the second half.

Before the two teams went into the halftime break, AFC Leopards were awarded a penalty after Maxwell Otieno was hacked down by Stanley Okwemba on the parameter of the 18-yard area.

Wazito players vehemently protested the decision which forced the linesman to intervene as the center referee then proceeded to award a freekick on the edge of the box.

Odera revealed that they feared for their lives after a section of the AFC Leopards stewards had an altercation with one of the Wazito senior club officials.

“We went to the dressing room during the halftime break and heard that there were some skirmishes between our director and the AFC Leopards stewards, we had to wait in the dressing room for everything to cool down so that we can play football.

Our football is on the pitch and not outside it, our lives are very important and that is why we decided to stay in the dressing before we could return to the field to play,” said Odera.

Ingwe bagged three points in the encounter after Kelvin Wesonga turned the ball into his own net in the first half which extended Wazito’s winless run to 12 games.

Ahead of their basement clash against Vihiga Bullets over the weekend, Odera revealed the areas of concern he spotted in the clash against Ingwe that need to be addressed.

“We wasted a number of chances and we will need to work on the chances that we lost, we also lost the ball easily and it's like the team is yet to gell well, there are new players who have joined and are yet to gell with the ones that were here previously.

We need to work on teamwork and coordination between the players and see if that will work out before we head to the weekend encounter,” added Odera.
