The Brewers will oust K'Ogalo from top spot should they beat their struggling visitors.

Twelve-time Kenyan champions Tusker fc are inline to demote Gor Mahia from the FKF Premier League summit should they win their fixture against financially handicapped Wazito fc on Tuesday afternoon. After a series of underwhelming results Tusker seem to have regained their mojo and should emasculate Wazito at Ruaraka grounds without much ado.

Their forms are sharply contrasting with the defending champions on a song while moneyless Wazito are hurtling out of control. Fresh from the 1-0 last weekend's win over Police FC, the Brewers will be out to add more misery to the relegation-threatened Wazito side.

But with Wazito wounded after losing 2-0 at home to KCB last Sunday, that could see them making it a tough afternoon for Tusker.

Picking up maximum points, however, remains crucial for Tusker to prevent log leaders Gor Mahia from further racing ahead.

Tusker are placed second on the FKF Premier League standings -two points behind K'Ogalo as the battle for their 14th title intensifies.

The Brewers coach Robert Matano is braced for a tough encounter against for tough encounter against the Muhoroni-based outfit.

"Our next match is against Wazito, a very good team. I've seen them play before and they are worthy opponents who are physical and determined.

"They also have some very experienced players who have been in the game for a long time now but all in all, we have planned well for them and we are ready to collect maximum points on Wednesday," he said.

Tusker will again be without the services of experienced striking duo Deogratious Ojok and  David Majak, who are still nursing injuries.

Sami Mwinyi is training with the rest of the squad but appears not match fit after a long injury layoff.

Wazito are expected to have a full-strength squad when they face Tusker as the Charles Odera-coached side has no suspension concerns, and they are yet to report any injuries in their camp.

Collins Neto remains Odera's first-choice striker, having netted four goals for Wazito this season.

The former Zoo FC marksman will be keen to add to his tally when he faces the Brewers' strong defense, which has kept four clean sheets in the past five league matches.

Stephen Bwire will be another player to watch as the skilful attacking midfielder has been influential for Wazito as he creates chances and goals, having recorded three assists in the league this term.

When Wazito last played at Ruaraka Stadium in a match against Talanta FC, coach Odera was left fuming at the pitch condition, which has been dramatically affected by the ongoing rains in Nairobi.

"The boys played their part, but the pitch was wet and slippery, and it counted against us as we could not play our typical football game.

Whenever my boys tried to make a move they could slide and lose the ball. Then after the first goal, the boys got demoralized," said Odera.

In head-to-head stats, Tusker and Wazito have met in eight league matches since 2018. The Brewers have claimed five wins while three matches have been drawn.

When the teams met last season at Kasarani Annex Stadium in March 2022, the Brewers claimed 3-0 away win thanks to goals from Ugandan import Deogratious Ojok who bagged a brace and Tanzania forward Ibrahim Joshua.
