The president of one of Brazil's top clubs has indicated that the club will only recruit players who are fit and prepared to contribute right away.
Palmeiras president Leila Pereira has categorically denied rumours linking Neymar Jr. to the Brazilian club, saying the club is not a medical department.
Pereira disclosed that the club is only interested in acquiring players who are fit and ready to contribute immediately.
Brazilian star Neymar has struggled to make an impact since his high-profile move to the Saudi Arabian club in August 2023 as he battled with different injuries.
Despite returning to action in the AFC Champions League, Neymar's injury woes has persisted. Reports suggest he could be sidelined for up to three weeks, further hindering his progress.
With Al-Hilal currently at their maximum foreign player quota for domestic competitions, Neymar's future with the club remains uncertain. While he remains eligible for continental tournaments, his overall impact has been limited thus far.
As the January transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether Neymar will find a new club or continue his journey with Al-Hilal.

For now, Palmeiras has made it clear that the Brazilian star is not part of their plans. President Leila said: “Neymar will not join Palmeiras; this club isn’t a medical department.
“I want someone who will come to join immediately, who can play tomorrow if the manager wishes. I won’t accept us signing a player who’s unfit to play," she said.
Palmeiras is one of the most accomplished clubs in Brazil; it has also been successful at a regional level as they have won 5 Interstate titles (Torneio Rio – São Paulo) and 26 State Championship titles (Campeonato Paulista).
