Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has admitted that the team is not ready to challenge for the Premier League title.
Liverpool thrashed the Red Devils 3-0 at Old Trafford, with the defeat coming as Man United's second defeat of the season.
The Red Devils lost to their opponents after making horrendous mistakes and playing second-best the entire game.
Captain Fernandes acknowledges that United is far from being a title contender after the team appeared unsteady at the back and lacklustre offensively.

Fernandes speaks on performance
Fernandes stated that his team's goal is to be in the top four to earn a Champions League spot, implying that they are not yet ready to challenge for the title.
He told DAZN Portugal, “Yes, I am perfectly aware that this Manchester United is not ready to win the Premier League.
“We are, indeed, fighting for the title with the concrete and real objective of trying to finish in the top four, in the places that give access to the Champions League.
“But there is still a lot to improve for the greater objective, and for my dream, which is to one day win this championship.”
The Portuguese star has urged his team to improve in the coming games if they are to challenge for the title this season.
Man United have lost back-to-back games, having won only one game in their first three Premier League matches.
