Super Eagles and Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has rallied his teammates following their recent setback against Wolves, urging them to maintain their fighting spirit as they aim to climb up the table in the remaining fixtures of the season.

The 27-year-old has silenced his critics following his performance in AFCON 2023, consistently delivering top-notch displays for Fulham since returning from his international duties in Ivory Coast.

Despite facing scrutiny, Iwobi has been instrumental for the team, showcasing his talent and commitment on the pitch.

“They took their chances, and my goal at the end was a bit too late. We lost concentration and focus and we spoke about it after the game.

“We need to be concentrated for the full ninety minutes. We can’t switch off at this stage, we go again,” he emphasized in an interview posted on the club’s official website.

Iwobi attributed his best-ever goalscoring season in the Premier League to the confidence instilled in him by the Fulham coach.

With five goals in twenty league games this season, the former Arsenal and Everton man is hitting new heights in his career.

“I enjoy playing under the gaffer and he gives me the confidence to keep going and play my football, so hopefully, the next goal will be on the winning side. It’s a bit of good form, and hopefully it can continue,” Iwobi acknowledged.

Fulham will face Ange Postecoglu’s Tottenham Hotspur at Craven Cottage in seven days, with both teams eyeing maximum points as the season approaches its end.
