Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has expressed his disappointment after his side dropped points against Bournemouth.

Enzo Maresca expressed his disappointment with his team's mentality after squandering a lead against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

The Blues took an early lead through Cole Palmer, but the visitors fought back with goals from Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo.

Reece James salvaged a point for Chelsea with a late free-kick.

(function (v, d, o, ai) { ai = d.createElement('script'); ai.defer = true; ai.async = true; ai.src = v.location.protocol + o; d.head.appendChild(ai); })(window, document, '//a.vdo.ai/core/v-pulsesports-ng-v2/vdo.ai.js');

Maresca was critical of his team's reaction to conceding, saying: "I don't think so, I think we deserved much more, especially in the first half. That's football."

He highlighted the negative shift in his team's approach after conceding: "The negative thing is that we changed how we played after conceding. We dropped back."

Maresca emphasized the importance of creating chances, but also acknowledged his team's struggles with converting those opportunities: "For sure, the most important thing is to create chances. It happened many times in the last four or five games. We don't score and then we concede."

He specifically pinpointed the team's response to conceding the penalty as an area for improvement: "Tonight after we concede the penalty, we drop a bit and we need to improve on that."
