Kanu Nwankwo’s Elephants have failed to win their last six matches across competitions.

Nigeria's sole representatives Enyimba FC are gearing up for an all-important match against Mozambique's Black Bulls in the CAF Confederation Cup, with the team already in Maputo ahead of the encounter.

The People’s Elephant, currently struggling in the competition, have managed only one point from their first two matches, following a disappointing loss to Al Masry in their opener and a draw against Zamalek at home.

Head coach Yemi Olanrewaju, at just 32 years old, remains optimistic despite the team's recent winless streak, which has now extended to six matches across all competitions.

He emphasised the importance of securing all three points in this upcoming clash, stating during his pre-match press conference;

"We are in Maputo to compete for the maximum points but we would respect Black Bulls because we don't have enough information about them.”

The match is set against a backdrop of pressure for both teams as they seek to revive their campaigns.

Enyimba's last outing saw them draw against Sunshine Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, further highlighting their need for a turnaround.

Yemi Olanrewaju, the Enyimba coach says the Elephants want to take three points in Maputo.

As they prepare for this vital clash on Sunday, all eyes will be on Olanrewaju and his squad to see if they can finally secure a much-needed victory.

The People’s Elephant need a win and the three points to keep hope alive and also revive what seems to be a fading dream of making it beyond the group stages.
