Reports suggest Luis Enrique’s vision for the team does not include a traditional No.9, leading to PSG’s withdrawal from the race.
Luis Enrique’s tactical plans rule Out Osimhen
Last summer, PSG were ready to break the bank for both Osimhen and his Napoli teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, with a reported €200 million bid for the duo.
)
While Kvaratskhelia eventually made the move to Paris in January, Osimhen remained in Italy as internal disagreements within PSG halted his potential transfer.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, sporting director Luís Campos was a strong advocate for bringing in Osimhen, but head coach Luis Enrique wasn’t convinced.
)
The Spanish manager does not prioritise traditional strikers, preferring a more fluid attacking system. His experiment with Ousmane Dembele in a central role has worked well, making the need for a classic No.9 less urgent.
Osimhen still has several suitors
Even though PSG are no longer interested, Osimhen’s next move remains a hot topic given his form with Galatasaray as the summer transfer window approaches.
)
The Super Eagles striker has a €75 million release clause, making him an attractive option for clubs in need of a prolific goal scorer.
One club that has kept tabs on Osimhen for years is Manchester United. With the Red Devils desperate for a reliable No.9, their long-standing interest in the Nigerian could finally turn into a formal offer.
)
Osimhen has also received interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Juventus with clubs reportedly lining up to ask Napoli for a deal for the Nigerian.
As Osimhen’s loan spell at Galatasaray nears its end, speculation about his next destination will only intensify. While PSG are officially out of the picture, the Premier League may soon come calling.
