Bayern Munich fans are not happy with the club's hierarchy following the departure of two superstar defenders Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui to Man United.

Bayern Munich supporters are up in arms after the Bundesliga giants allowed two of their star defenders Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui to join Manchester United in a double swoop.

De Ligt and Mazraoui have both completed moves to Old Trafford, reuniting with former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag. And the Bayern faithful are not happy about it one bit after the Bavarians initially rejected both deals.

De Ligt, 26, joined the German champions just last summer from Juventus but has now been offloaded to United for a reported €50million (£39m) fee.

Moroccan full-back Mazraoui has also traded Bavaria for Manchester, with the Red Devils shelling out an initial €15m (£12.5m) plus a potential €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons to secure his services.

The double departure has left Bayern supporters feeling short-changed, with one disgruntled fan ranting on social media:

"I can't believe we downgraded our defense, supplied Man United with two of our players and only sold them for €70m as well, while guys like Solanke are getting sold for €75m."

Another fumed: "Sold our best and most versatile FB for peanuts. And our best and most important CB for €20m less than market value. Nice. Our defense is leaderless and prone to major mistakes (especially in big games) so yeah, it's looking like a really early CL exit."

The switch to the Premier League represents a major coup for United boss Ten Hag, who has been reunited with his former players from Ajax and will be hoping De Ligt and Mazraoui can help shore up a defence that conceded a worrying 58 goals last season as United finished eighth in the Premier League.

But Bayern's decision to sanction the sales has left their supporters feeling thoroughly underwhelmed, with another fan admitting:

"Listen, we've been an absolute disaster in the transfer market for the last 10 years. Let us have this moment in the sun. Finally, we have some competent personnel running things. Making good deals. Let me have this. Bayern doesn't need anymore trophies. Maybe we can finish 2nd."
