KCB remained unbeaten and maintained their stay at the summit on Wednesday but could not collect maximum points against Gor Mahia despite creating good chances.
KCB FC tactician Patrick Odhiambo is ruing a missed opportunity to sink the defending champions Gor Mahia when the two unbeaten sides faced of in a cagey 0-0 showdown at the Dandora Stadium on Wednesday.
KCB went into the match yet to taste defeat, winning four consecutive games since their opening day draw to Kariobangi Sharks back in August, with their latest outing being a 4-1 hammering of Kakamega Homeboyz at the Sportpesa Arena on Saturday, October 19.
Against K'Ogalo Odhiambo opted for a relatively similar XI to the one that dispatched Kakamega Homeboyz with the exception of the returning skipper Brian Ochieng in for Faraja Ominde and attacker Henry Onyango in place of Joshua Nyatini.
Disciplined in defence, the Bankers kept the defending champions at bay while also managing to create goal scoring opportunities of their own with the likes the speedy Stephen Etyang troubling Gad Mathews in goal.

Wasteful Gor Mahia held to stalemate by KCB in drub encounter
Gor Mahia huffed and puffed but could not find a way to break the deadlock against KCB, as both sides settled for a 0-0 draw.
Despite the effort from both teams to break the deadlock, the scores remained the same with neither team finding the back of the net to share the spoils and maintain their unbeaten runs.
The KCB tactician now feels his side had the more open chances and should have capitaliSed on them to collect maximum points.
"It was a tough game against a very tough opponent and we thank God for the point because the game was very tough," said the tactician post-match.
"We got very good open chances, even more than Gor Mahia. They were playing but no chance. Football is all about strategies. You create spaces and at the right time you attack those spaces, so it's not defensive, it's strategy," added Odhiambo when questioned on the defensive approach to the game.

Murang'a Seal dent AFC Leopards' early-season title hopes with massive sucker punch
Humphrey Obina's wonder freekick was enough to hand Murang'a Seal a crucial 1-0 win over AFC Leopards in a league encounter that took place at the SportPesa Arena on Wednesday afternoon.
The day saw Odhiambo's side yield possession to the defending champions but defended their goal well to deny Leonardo Neiva's side a sniff while creating chances when they did get on the ball.
Both sides, however, seemed to struggle to string passes with most being either under or overhit as the tactician attributed it to the artificial pitch.
"The pitch was slippery. It's good to be truthful, the pitch was very slippery and everybody could sees. On our side, we have not been very comfortable on the ball because of the pitch. The players found it hard to keep upright," he added.
Despite the adversities, the Bankers managed to stay unbeaten in six matches played and maintain their stay at the top of the league with 14 points, trailed by Kariobangi Sharks in second place with 11 points.
