'The goal is to win' - Nnadozie optimistic about Super Falcons future for next 30 years

The Nigerian shot-stopper has been shortlisted for the 2024 CAF Women's Player of the Year award and the Goalkeeper of the Year.

Talented Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed her determination to lead the Super Falcons to victory at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

Nnadozie was in goal when the Super Falcons lost to France 2-1 in their last international friendly, but remains optimistic about the team's future.

The shot-stopper's stellar season for club and country has seen her shortlisted for the 2024 CAF Women's Player of the Year award and the Goalkeeper of the Year.

Nnadozie highlighted that the Super Falcons team is a youthful one with many talents and potential for growth.

"It is the last game of the year, but next year we will continue where we stopped. The goal is to win the WAFCON and by the grace of God we will," Nnadozie told Ojb Sports.

"I always say that we have a bright future, it hasn't been the same over the past four to five years.

"We are always moving ahead and growing. We have so many young talents and I think in the next 20 to 30 years, we will not lack good footballers in this team," she said.

The Super Falcons, nine-time African champions, have been placed in Group B with Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana for the 2024 African Women's Nations Cup (WAFCON), set to take place in Morocco from July 5 to July 26, 2025.
