Ideye, who has played for several top-tier clubs in Europe, including Dynamo Kyiv and Olympiakos, joined the nine-time NPFL champions, Enyimba in a surprise move, aiming to help develop Nigerian football.

What Ideye said
In an interview, Ideye reflected on his time in the NPFL, acknowledging the challenges and opportunities that come with playing in the Nigerian top flight.
He said, “The system is getting worse, and the league is not getting better. I feel like we have a long way to go. My time with Enyimba has been wonderful, but the league has to improve in all of these areas.
“In terms of traveling bad, feeding and hotels and how the players relax all are bad, we are not ready for continental, I feel like we should put our house in order before we can go for continental.”
As one of the most experienced and decorated players in the NPFL, Ideye's thoughts carry significant weight, and his contributions to Nigerian football will be closely watched in the coming months.
