Arne Slot is yet to make a single signing this summer and the Liverpool boss has explained the lack of transfer activity at Anfield.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has assured fans that the club is working diligently to secure their first signing of the summer.

Despite the departure of key players, including Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara, the Reds have failed to make any new additions to their squad.

Slot explains Liverpool's lack of transfer business

Ahead of the Reds' first pre-season friendly against Real Betis in Pittsburgh, Slot explained the challenges they face in identifying suitable players.

"We're trying to improve the squad where possible, but it's not that easy because we have so many good players," he said.

Slot highlighted two main difficulties: assessing the current squad, which is complicated by the absence of many players, and finding new talent that meets the team's high standards.

"The first one is me wanting to assess the squad, which is difficult because most of them are still not here," he noted.

"The second one also has to do with the difficulty of if you have inherited a team that is really good, then it's not so easy to find players that are of the same standards or even higher, especially as those ones need to be available as well," Slot added.

He praised the efforts of Liverpool's sporting director, Richard Hughes, who is leading the charge in securing new signings.

"Richard more than me is really working hard on that and he keeps me updated every time," Slot said.
