Kenya U20 national team captain Amos Wanjala has fired a warning shot for familiar opponents ahead of U-20 AFCON- CECAFA qualifiers.
The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) U-20 qualifiers for the CECAFA Zone are scheduled for October 6-20, 2024, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Burundi, Djibouti, and Ethiopia have all confirmed their participation in the tournament, competing for a chance to qualify for the continental event.
Kenya's Junior Stars are placed in Group A with Tanzania, Sudan, Rwanda, and Djibouti.

Junior Stars are poised to play in the U-20 AFCON-CECAFA qualifiers 2024 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from October 6 to October 20.
Junior Stars captain Amos Wanjala has alerted their opponents to their familiarity with them.
"We have had very good training and I believe we are very ready for the competition. We know that the competition will be tough because we have met with some of the teams before. We are very sure we are going ro compete and bring positive result," Wanjala told FKF TV
Wanjala participated in last year's CECAFA U-18 tournament held in Kisumu and Kakamega, where Uganda staged a comeback to defeat Kenya 2-1 in the final at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.

Former Gor Mahia striker Benson Omala has missed national team call-up for crucial AFCON qualifier double-header tie against Cameroon.
"In our group (Group A) I believe everyone is coming to compete. Nothing will be easy and as I said we have been preparing and we will do our best to win," added Wanjala.
Junior Stars coach Salim Babu revealed his provisional squad for the tournament, which includes Wanjala along with notable players from last year’s tournament like Aldrine Kibet, Louise Ingavi and Tyron Kariuki.
Kenya will begin their group stage with a match against hosts Tanzania, followed by games against Rwanda and Djibouti, before wrapping up the group stage against Sudan.
The team has been in a residential training camp in Nairobi since September 22 and is set to leave for Tanzania tomorrow on October 4.
