Super Eagles star player has said he believes Nigeria will qualify for the FIFA World Cup in 2026.

Since Augustine Eguavoen became temporary manager, the Super Eagles have been playing well.

They have guaranteed their spot at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with three victories and one draw.

With the teams progressing under Eguavoen, Moses Simon has claimed the team will qualify for the next World Cup.

Simon is certain that they still have a chance to qualify for the upcoming World Cup, which is set to take place in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.

The winger told BBC, “We have the quality, we have what it takes to win. We don’t believe that we are not going to the World Cup.

“The last qualifying games, we missed regular players and I believe they’ll be there next year to help the team.”

Last year, the Super Eagles had drawn back-to-back matches against Zimbabwe and Lesotho under Jose Peseiro.

Then, under Finidi's leadership, they drew with South Africa, then suffered a stunning defeat to the Benin Republic.

With six games remaining, Nigeria are now four points behind Rwanda in fifth place in the group as a result of those results, placing them in a risky position.

To qualify for the World Cup, the Super Eagles would need to win at least five of their remaining games.

Meanwhile, Augustine Eguavoen has received a major boost ahead of the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, as Moses Simon is declared fit to play for the Super Eagles.
