Victor Boniface is brimming with confidence ahead of Nigeria's 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Friday.

Boniface is determined to turn around the team's performance after a poor start to the qualifying campaign.

"We need to be at the World Cup, and I can speak for myself and the other players—we’re ready to give our best and hopefully secure a win.
"You can see it in the training, everyone is ready and really looking forward to the game. We hope and see if we can achieve our aim so hopefully we can get a win.”
Boniface discussed the initial training sessions under new head coach Eric Shell, as Nigeria prepares for their first match with Shell at the helm.

"It’s been really tough,” he admitted. "But no matter who the coach is, we know how big Nigeria is as a country.
"We always want to give our 100%, and that doesn’t change. The most important thing is that we’re all ready, and we’re all looking forward to the game."
