Uganda Cranes will face Niger on Thursday 7th, September at the Grand Stadium of Marrakech, Morocco.
Uganda Cranes defender-cum-winger Joseph Ochaya says the team understands the weight of their upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations fixture against Niger.
The ultimate Group F match will be played on Thursday 7th, September at the Grand Stadium of Marrakech, Morocco.
Runaway group leaders Algeria have already sealed their qualification while Niger is out of contention, leaving the battle of the last spot to Tanzania and Uganda.
The Algerians lead Group F with 15 points, Tanzania follows with seven, while Uganda is third with only four.
Uganda will have to take care of Niger as they hope that Algeria beat Tanzania if the Cranes are to qualify.
Ochaya says the mood in the camp is high and has rallied for support from everyone as they embark on the crucial assignment.
“The mood is good, and everyone is focused on this crucial assignment. We know how important the game is to us and the country at large and we are asking for everyone’s support. We’re praying for this win because we need it more,” Ochaya, who arrived in camp on Monday evening, told media.
The defender missed the penultimate encounter against Algeria due to a knee injury but is expected to play a key role on Thursday.
