The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to face Rwanda and Zimbabwe in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.

However, the team's campaign has gotten off to a disappointing start, with the Super Eagles languishing in fifth place in Group G.

Nigeria trails behind leaders South Africa, Rwanda, and Benin Republic, who are all tied on seven points. Lesotho, in fourth place, has five points, two more than Nigeria.

The Super Eagles must overcome the hurdle to secure the sole ticket to the AFCON finals from Group G. With only the top team from the group guaranteed an automatic spot in the tournament.

The Sparta Prague forward revealed the importance of selecting quality players to ensure qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

According to Olatunji in an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports, Chelle must focus on building a strong team with talented players who can deliver results.

He said, “We have great players that can make us qualify, if we have great choice we will because you cannot just pick one person all what we needed is select good players and we will qualify.”

The Super Eagles will resume their World Cup qualifying campaign in March with an away trip to Rwanda, followed by a home game against Zimbabwe.
