FKF president Nick Mwendwa flagged off the two-day event on Monday aimed at professionalizing and commercializing FKF Premier League clubs that was attended by top clubs and FIFA officials.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President, Nick Mwendwa, has hailed the federation’s latest collaboration with FIFA, following a groundbreaking two-day FIFA Club Professionalization and Management Workshop.
Held for FKF Premier League club leaders, this event aimed to empower local football clubs with essential skills in strategic planning, governance, and financial management, marking a significant step toward commercializing and enhancing professionalism in Kenyan football.
Club chairpersons and CEOs from FKF Premier League clubs attended the workshop, which took place from Monday to Tuesday.
The program, initiated through FKF’s partnership with FIFA, was designed to address challenges faced by local clubs and equip them with the tools to foster sustainable growth and competitive standards.
Mwendwa, who officiated the workshop, expressed optimism about the program's potential impact.
“This is so important. Clubs are the bread and butter of football. Our clubs need support to commercialize and professionalize, to become bigger and better. We’ve been discussing this with FIFA for quite a while, and I’m happy we’re the second country in Africa to get this training," expressed Mwendwa during the flagging off.
"The experts here are top professionals who know what they’re doing. Our clubs will gain knowledge that they can implement and build on annually, changing the football landscape in Kenya," he added.
