Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey provided some insight into their mentality for the second-leg Champions League quarter final clash against Real Madrid.

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey said that they have no plans of being negative at Santiago Bernabeu and would go into the second leg of their Champions League clash against Real Madrid with the goal of winning.

The Gunners shocked Los Blancos at the Emirates on Tuesday, beating Carlo Ancelotti’s side 3-0 thanks to goals from Declan Rice and Mikel Merino to take a huge advantage into the second leg.

What Partey said

Given the huge advantage and goal margin, there have been suggestions that Arsenal's game plan for the second leg would entail them parking the bus.

However, Partey, in a recent press conference, said they had no intention of doing that, as they would go into the match with a winning mentality.

“We all know what we have to do,” he said, per The Independent

“We have to go there with the mentality to win. We want to win every game. And I think we have to play, be confident with the ball, and also try to find our weaknesses and keep attacking them.”

Meanwhile, the Ghanaian is a doubt for the second leg, despite his rallying call. He scored Arsenal's only goal in the 1-1 draw against Brentford on Saturday but had to be substituted in the 69th minute after sustaining an injury.
