Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has warned his critics that he will be back to his best soon.

Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana, signed by Manchester United for £43.8m in last summer's transfer window, has faced severe challenges since replacing David de Gea.

Onana, who arrived after a successful season at San Siro, where he was pivotal in the club's run to the Champions League final, has made several errors for United this season.

Questions have been asked about the 27-year-old's long-term suitability as the club's goalkeeper, given the high expectations that accompanied his arrival.

In an interview with Sky Sports Italy, Onana was defiant about his form so far this season and pointed to his slow start at Inter as a reason for belief his performances will improve.

"Mistakes are part of learning, we know that people expect a lot from me and that's why they criticise me so much. But for me, it's not a problem, I'm used to it. The same thing also happened at Inter," Onana said.

"At the beginning they criticised me, but look how it ended...now it's eternal love with the Nerazzurri.

"Manchester United is an even bigger club and the expectations are also greater, but I'm sure that by doing better and better, from now on, we will smile together."
