Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane was the subject of social media digs after his team’s Champions League exit meant his trophyless spell extends even after quitting Tottenham.
England captain Harry Kane was the subject of social media trolls following Bayer Munich’s Champions League exit at the semi-final on Wednesday.
Bayern lost 2-1 and 4-3 on aggregate to Real Madrid and missed out on a chance to make the final which means the German giants will end the season without a trophy for the first time in 12 years.
It was further heartbreak for Kane who made a big-money move from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern in the summer in a bid to win trophies but the loss means the striker, who has scored an incredible 44 goals in 45 games, is still without a trophy in his career.

‘Leo Messi, son of a b*tch’ - Real Madrid fans insult Argentine star ahead of Bayern Munich clash
Real Madrid fans made fun of Lionel Messi ahead of their team's Champions League semifinal matchup against Bayern Munich.
However, others feel Kane was let down by his coach Thomas Tuchel who took him off in Wednesday’s match with six minutes to go as his side were leading 1-0 before Joselu scored two late goals for Madrid to win the tie.
“Tuchel to blame on this, taking Kane and [Leroy] Sane off too soon completely handed the initiative to Madrid and now they've got nothing to come back with,” lamented a disappointed supporter.
“Thomas Tuchel lost the match immediately he took Harry Kane off. My boy Harry Kane deserved better. Scores 40+ goals but loses the league because of a freak season by Leverkusen. Subbed off in UCL semifinal in 85min about to go through then Joselu scores twice straight after,” another one posted.

From Antony to Kane: Bayern Munich ready to rescue Ten Hag from Old Trafford hell
Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in bringing Manchester United's Erik ten Hag to the Bundesliga this summer.
However, some are seeing the glass half full for Kane, crediting him for quitting Spurs and still delivering impressive numbers in a new team.
“Kane Banter/juju/curse/memes aside; he took a tough decision, left his comfort zone and went to uncharted territory searching for what he would’ve never found at Spurs. Had a great first season and adapted very well. Nothing but respect,” emphasised another supporter.
Kane will now hope that England have a good Euro2024 campaign that can lead to the title to claim his first trophy or he will have to start all over again with Bayern under a new coach next season.
