‘There are so many rewards’ - Troost Ekong advises Chelsea star to dump England for Nigeria
Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has advised Chelsea star about the national team he should consider.
Ekong speaks ahead of Benin clash
Ekong has emphasised the team's good experiences at Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan during a pregame press conference.
“The last time we played against Benin was in October, if I’m correct, and we won at home. We know Benin is a good team, and Gernot Rohr has been my coach in the national team for over five years.
“He knows our team very well. We’ve played against Benin multiple times, so we know it will be a challenging game. But here, especially in this stadium, we have amazing memories from earlier this year.
“We’ll be very ready. We feel at home here in Abidjan, and I’m confident we can do the job and qualify by winning our game tomorrow. That’s what we’re going out to do.”
With these victories, Troost-Ekong thinks Nigeria hopes to win a fourth game and move closer to AFCON qualification will be bolstered by the stadium's familiar terrain.
Meanwhile, Eguavoen has warned Super Eagles players not to be complacent ahead of the Benin clash.
