Wenger criticizes Todd Boelhy for failing to invest his money with a discernible plan.

Legendary former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has slammed Chelsea’s inability to invest their money well as the reason the West London-based outfit have struggled to perform this season.

Speaking in the aftermath of the side’s exit at the hands of 14 time Champions League winners, Real Madrid on Tuesday night, Wenger revealed Chelsea’s inability to invest wisely has transcended into their inconsistent performances and results.

"I'm worried for Chelsea,” he said, "If you don't invest the £500m [well] then you have a problem. They haven't invested well,” he added.

"They've same weaknesses as before. They don't score enough goals. They've a lot of possession but not enough conversion."

Although Chelsea pulled off a spirited performance particularly in the first half of the game against Madrid, they could not find a cutting edge, before two goals from Rodrygo in the second half, with the second goal particularly laughable for Chelsea, knocked them out of the competition.

Since Todd Boelhy took charge of the club from Roman Abramovic following his sanctioning by the UK government, the club have struggled to produce consistently good results.

Under his ownership, the club have so far, splashed the cash on over 600 million pounds worth of new incomings. He sacked German tactician Thomas Tuchel in the summer after allegations about disagreements with the board over transfer incomings.

He replaced him with Graham Potter, but after just over 8 months in the job, sacked him and then replaced him with Frank Lampard on an interim basis.

As a result, the squad have struggled to create a cohesion on the pitch, leading to inconsistent performances and bad results.
