Hugo Broos, the coach of Bafana Bafana, believes that his team can secure the top spot in Group C of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers by defeating Nigeria and other competitors.

South Africa took a step closer to getting the 2026 FIFA World Cup ticket, having defeated Benin Republic 2-0.

After matchday six of World Cup qualification, South Africa leads the group with a five-point advantage over Rwanda.

They are also six points above Nigeria, who is currently in fourth place with seven points after their 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe.
