The Libyan FA have released a statement concerning the mistreatment of the Super Eagles team and delegates.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria had a disappointing arrival in Libya as they were left stranded at the airport by their host.
The team's flight got diverted on their way to Libya and the team arrived at a different designated airport.
The players and the NFF representatives had to spend the night at the airport after becoming stranded for nearly 15 hours without sustenance.

According to reigning CAF Player of the Year Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Libya are in a hostage situation.
Libya statement
A statement have been made by the Libyan FA following the situation being faced by the Super Eagles players and their delegates.
The official statement was released on their official account on X, “We are deeply concerned about the recent reports surrounding the diversion of the Nigerian national team’s flight ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Libya.”
The Libyan FA also stated that the issue the Super Eagles faced occurred as a result of logistic challenges.
The statement continued, “While we regret any inconvenience caused, it is essential to note that such incidents can occur due to routine air traffic control protocols, security checks, or logistical challenges that affect international air travel.
“These are standard procedures at airports worldwide, and delays or rerouting, though unfortunate, are not uncommon.
“We have the utmost respect for our Nigerian counterparts and want to reassure them that the diversion of their flight was not intentional.”
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles situation has been reported to CAF by the NFF and a reply has been received by the NFF.
