While West Ham would welcome Rashford on loan, they acknowledge the likelihood of him joining a top European club.

Several prominent clubs, including Napoli, Juventus, AC Milan, and Borussia Dortmund, have been linked with the England international.

Manchester United are reportedly resigned to the fact that a permanent sale this month is unlikely, making a loan deal their most probable course of action.

This news coincides with West Ham's appointment of Graham Potter as their new manager.

Potter signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at the London Stadium, replacing Julen Lopetegui, who was sacked after a disappointing eight-month tenure that left West Ham 14th in the Premier League.

At his introductory press conference, Potter expressed his excitement about joining West Ham, highlighting the club's "big tradition, big history, big expectation."

He described his appointment as "a bit like Christmas for the adults" and expressed eagerness to begin working with the players and connect with the supporters.
