West Ham vs Arsenal - How it happened
The visitors started on the front foot as Mikel Arteta's plan to attack was evident from the first whistle.
It only took 10 minutes for their efforts to pay off, and their set-piece prowess paid off again as Gabriel Magalhaes headed in Bukayo Saka's corner.
The visitors dominated the first half, with Saka and Martin Odegaard combining to devastating effect. Odegaard tucked home a penalty after Saka was brought down by Lucas Paquetá, sparking a flurry of goals.
Kai Havertz slotted home calmly to make it 3-0, but West Ham responded with two quick goals. Aaron Wan-Bissaka scored with a side-footed finish, and Emerson Palmieri whipped in an unstoppable free-kick.
However, Arsenal restored their three-goal advantage before halftime as Saka stepped up to score from the spot after Gabriel was fouled.
The second half was a more subdued affair, with Arsenal in control and West Ham unable to mount a serious challenge.
The Gunners' victory sees them climb to second in the Premier League table, while West Ham remains 14th, six points clear of the relegation zone.
