Nigerian giants Enyimba and their young coach are on a roll after another important victory.

Nigerian football giants Enyimba FC extended their impressive run of form with a 2-1 victory over Lobi Stars in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Week 2 clash on Wednesday.

The win at Enyimba Stadium in Aba further cements the team's positive momentum under their 32-year-old coach, Yemi Olanrewaju.

The People's Elephant, fresh from securing a CAF Confederation Cup group stage berth over the weekend, showcased their attacking prowess with two quick-fire goals in the first half.

Chinedu Ufere opened the scoring, followed swiftly by Ekwutoziam Eze's strike, putting Enyimba firmly in control in the space of two minutes.

Lobi Stars managed to pull one back through Waheed Adebayo, but it proved to be merely a consolation as Enyimba held on for the win.

This victory adds to Enyimba's growing list of successes under Olanrewaju's guidance.

The young tactician, speaking after the match, expressed satisfaction with the result while acknowledging the challenges faced by his team:

"It is good, we are happy to get the three points, that's what is important," Olanrewaju stated. "This is a league, it's a marathon so every game and getting the maximum points at home are important. We take a game at a time, we are putting this game behind us and planning for Rivers United."

The coach also addressed the team's performance, noting, "I feel very excited, it's important we win today after the CAFCC victory. Even though there was a bit of sloppiness today, but it's expected having played such a game and the stress during the weekend. The most important thing is we got the points."

The win propels Enyimba up the NPFL table, while Lobi Stars' struggles continue.
