The Super Eagles goalkeeper is set for pastures new after spending six years at Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel.

It's the end of an era for Nigerian goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye as he bids farewell to his long-time club Hapoel Jerusalem after six years in Israel.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper, who has represented the Super Eagles at the international level, has decided to move on to pastures new, with reports suggesting he's set to continue his career in Cyprus as a free agent.

Adeleye, who conceded a staggering 21 goals in just 17 matches during the 2023/2024 campaign, took to social media to pen an emotional message to the club and its fans.

"A big thank you to Hapoel Jerusalem for your supports and motivations," the Nigerian goalkeeper wrote.

"Good 6 years with the club wasn't a waste, thanks for encouraging me to keep striving for the best. You'll Forever remain in my heart."

The young keeper, who came through the ranks at Hapoel Jerusalem in 2019, had established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper for three consecutive seasons.

However, this past year proved to be a difficult one as Adeleye struggled for game time, making just 17 appearances and conceding an alarming number of goals.

With his contract having now expired, the Nigerian shot-stopper is set to embark on a new chapter in his career, with a move to Cyprus reportedly on the cards.

Adeleye made his debut for the Super Eagles last June 2023 but has not yet returned to the national team setup since then.

It remains to be seen where the Nigerian goalkeeper's next destination will be, but one thing is certain – his six-year stint with Hapoel Jerusalem has come to an emotional end.
