African World Cup qualifiers heat up with key matches including Kenya vs Burundi and Nigeria vs South Africa on June 7.

As the quest for the 2026 FIFA World Cup intensifies the African qualifiers continue to capture the imagination of football fans across the continent.

This Friday, June 7 promises to be a thrilling day in African football with five pivotal matches that could reshape the dynamics in their respective groups.

Here’s a breakdown of these crucial encounters.

Kenya vs Burundi – Group F: Bingu National Stadium, Lilongwe, Malawi, 4pm

In what is billed as a crucial match for both teams, Kenya will lock horns with Burundi at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

Both teams are eager to secure a win to boost their chances in Group F. Kenya, under the guidance of Engin Firat, has shown promise with a blend of experienced and young players.

Key figures like Michael Olunga and  are expected to play pivotal roles. Burundi, coached by Etienne Ndayiragije, will rely on the prowess of Mohammed Amisi to challenge the Harambee Stars. Currently, Kenya is third in the group with three points same as Burundi.

Nigeria vs South Africa – Group C: Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Nigeria, 10pm

A titan clash in Group C features Nigeria facing South Africa. The Super Eagles, led by coach Finidi George, are positioned forth of their group with two points.

Morocco vs Zambia – Group E: Adrar Stadium, Agadir, Morocco, 10pm

Morocco and Zambia are set to face off in a decisive match at Adrar Stadium.
