After a disastrous loss to Manchester City, the Premier League star found that his woes continued off the pitch

One Premier League player has earned himself the dishonour of becoming the lowest-rated player in the history of stats company Whoscored, which began rating players in the mid-2000s.

That player was Ipswich goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, who had a horror show against his former club Manchester City as they breezed past the newcomers in the second game of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Champions crush newcomers Ipswich

Manchester City crushed Ipswich to claim the top spot in the Premier League despite Sammie Szmodics giving the away side the lead after just seven minutes.

That early setback sparked City into action, and after new signing Savinho won a penalty, Erling Haaland confidently converted from the spot for the first of his three goals.

The champions took the lead two minutes later when a mistake by Arijanet Muric handed Kevin De Bruyne an open goal, which the Belgian gleefully accepted.

Moments later, De Bruyne set up Haaland, who rounded Muric and slotted home his second goal of the day.

The second half saw City dominate possession, and Haaland scored his third in added time to complete his 7th Premier League hat-trick with a fine finish.

Muric performance rated lowest in Whoscored history

Muric’s performance was arguably the worst part of the defeat to Manchester City for Ipswich as the former Cityzens goalkeeper put on a display that would have left no doubts about his loyalty to his former club.

The Kosovo international was disappointing, to say the least, and earned himself the worst-ever rating that statheads at Whoscored have ever recorded.

With four goals conceded, only one save, and two errors leading to goals, Muric earned a rating of just 3.29 out of a possible 10, making his performance against Manchester City officially the worst on record.

Muric and Ipswich face Wimbledon in the EFL Cup next, hoping for some reprieve after back-to-back games against Liverpool and Manchester City.
