Luckily for Chelsea, the last time they appointed a bald head coach in the midseason, they won the UEFA Champions League.
The Blues will face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals come April 12, with the European elite competition being their sole source of hope in this lacklustre season.
Immediate boss, Saltor is set for a baptism of fire against Liverpool tonight should the Blues fail the race against time for a new head coach.
Among the front runners for the hot seat include former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann and former Barcelona coach Luiz Enrique. Also, former PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to be in the race.
However, for the moment, the spotlight is on Saltor.
Well, Saltor comes with little promise for the Blues.
He joined Stamford Bridge in September under the wings of Graham Potter.
He has a fair history in professional football, having featured for Espanyol, Almeria, Valencia and Brighton, where he was a captain in 2017.
He retired in 2019, and Potter took him under his technical team at Brighton. However, following Potter's transfer to Chelsea, he moved with his former boss.
And now he is in charge on interim basis until further notice.
