United States captain Christian Pulisic has explained his decision to do the popular Donald Trump dance after scoring against Jamaica.
The United States led by Mauricio Pochettino defeated Jamaica 4-2 in St Louis to advance to the semis of the Concacaf Nations League.
The hosts won 5-2 on aggregate and Christian Pulisic set them on their way with the opening goal of the game.
Pulisic celebrated his goal by moving his arms and hips similarly to Donald Trump's signature moves.
Trump, who has been elected the 47th president of the United States has been seen performing the same dance routines across different cities and states, with several fans popularising the dance on social media.
After the game, Pulisic revealed his reason for the celebration.
“Well obviously that is the Trump dance,” Pulisic said at his post-match interview.
“It was just a dance that everyone’s doing. He’s the one who created it. I just thought it was funny.”
