Leny Yoro has been on Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United's radar.

You are one of the young center backs playing in Europe and after you end the 23/24 season with Lille. Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United come knocking at your door. Where will you go?

Leny Yoro is far from your average teenage center back. Here is why his name was on the list of Europe's top transfer team targets.

The ball at his feet- passing

Among top center-backs in Europe’s top five leagues Where do you think Yoro ranks in terms of passing? Top 10? Top 5? Try number 1.

Yoro leads all under 21 CBs in passes made. Its not just about quantity. When it comes to passing accuracy he again tops the charts.

This is top tier. Hold on now United fans, Yoro completed just over 1700 passes for Lille in Ligue 1 last season. This is the most in passes by a teenager across all top 5 European leagues.

The ball of his feet- defending

Yoro ranks second among under 21 center backs in number of percentages of aerials duels won in Ligue 1. When pressing to win the ball, Yoro ranks 4th in number of successful tackles made. A well rounded defensive powerhouse in the making.

His role at Lille

Yoro has been acting as a cover defender for Lille and has been excelling in that role. His partner, Alexandro just like Lisandro who was the more aggressive stopper, registered a high number of duels won in Ligue 1 last season.

His ability to cover wide areas was impressive last season. This allowed Lille’s fullback to jump out and join the press because his height and ability to track runners helped against channeled aerial balls.

Like Van Dijk, he does not just dive into tackles instead he reads the game and anticipates moves. He uses his body to put other pacey players off balance just before winning the ball. Van Dijk is famous for this move. Whenever he slides for the ball he is accurate and does not concede unnecessary fouls.

Now pair him with the aggressive Lisandro Martinez

Martinez could win the ball more and United’s right back could push higher up the pitch because Yoro’s will be there to cover up. But we’ll see Ten Hag ball next season to see how he utilizes his new young CB.

Is he worth all the money?

His price tag ranges just North of 50 million Euros. Only time will tell. But judging from his stats, his defensive capabilities, his aerial prowess, his frame that is only going to fill up with time, his forward progression with the ball, Yoro could become a generational talent.

The like of Ramos, Thiago Silva and Varane didn’t just defend for their teams, they led and stepped up on crucial moments to help their team win.

Yoro is just 18 and is already showing signs. That’s why 3 of the top teams in the top 5 European leagues have all been chasing him.

Man United fans will be pumped to see their new defender dominating the pitch in the Premier League.
