Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed the reason why his team's 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth.
This was the Cherries first win over the champions in 15 top-flight games, including 14 successive defeats.
It was an unusually flat performance by Guardiola's men, and they only picked up the pace towards the end, rallying, but ultimately failing to find an equaliser.
The result, coupled with Liverpool's win over Brighton sends the Reds two points clear at the top.

Guardiola explains Man City's defeat to Bournemouth
Speaking after the game, Guardiola said:
“We knew we couldn’t match the intensity. We have talked about it. It was an open game. We had chances at the end but I congratulate Bournemouth for the victory.
“The 50-50 balls in the middle, the duels, they play this type of game.
They are so aggressive. They had six to seven days to prepare, and they have physicality and speed, but you have to win these types of situations. And they had chances."
City will now turn their focus to Tuesday's Champions League game against Sporting as Guardiola hopes for a quick response from his men.
