Klaassen scored the second-latest goal recorded at the World Cup.
In Senegal’s 2-0 loss to the Netherlands, Davy Klaassen scored in the eighth minute of stoppage time to add to Cody Gakpo’s opener for the Dutch, and in doing so, scored what would have been the latest goal scored in a World Cup fixture since 1966, but for Mehdi Taremi’s goal for Iran earlier in the day.

Taremi set two new goalscoring records.
With Iran 6-1 down to England, Taremi scored a penalty in the 13th minute of additional time to put some respect in the score line, and in doing so set the record for the latest goal at a World Cup since 1966.

Taremi’s goal also saw him move up in Iran’s all-time goalscorers’ list to become the second-highest goalscorer among active Iranian football players.
