The England international was forced off during the first half and left Selhurst Park on crutches, raising fears about his availability for the Gunners’ crucial fixtures in the coming weeks.
Arsenal’s dominant win spoiled by Saka injury
Arsenal produced a dominant performance at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace. Gabriel Jesus continued his red-hot form, scoring twice to add to his midweek hat-trick.
Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Declan Rice also found the back of the net, rounding off a comprehensive 5-1 victory.
However, Saka’s absence could cast a shadow over Arsenal’s push for silverware. With key fixtures looming, the Gunners will be hoping for positive news from Saka’s upcoming assessments despite a video emerging of the Gunners star leaving the stadium on crutches.
A prolonged absence for the influential winger could significantly impact Arsenal’s aspirations in multiple competitions. With 22 goal contributions in 24 games so far this season, his absence will be a huge blow for the Gunners.
Arteta issues Saka update
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta confirmed that Saka experienced discomfort in his hamstring, marking his third such injury this season.
The winger signalled to the bench immediately after delivering a cross, prompting his substitution for Leandro Trossard.
“He felt something in his hamstring. He couldn’t continue,” Arteta said post-match, adding, “We’ll have to assess him, but I’m pretty worried about that one.”
Arteta also noted that it was unclear if the injury was a recurrence of previous issues but confirmed it occurred in the same leg. “They’ve tested him inside, but it’s very difficult to say how bad it is right now. He’s already had two minor injuries in this area this season; I don’t know how big this one is going to be.”
The 23-year-old’s injury comes as Arsenal face a demanding schedule, including matches against Ipswich Town, Brighton, and a high-profile FA Cup clash with Manchester United.
