Euro 2024: Spain cruise to the quarter final, set up clash with host Germany
Spain defeated Georgia in the round of 16 tie and qualified for the quarter-final as they set sight on the trophy.
What Lehmann said
“It is a small and inexperienced team,” Lehmann said, per El Desmarque. “They are all very small in height and with very little experience in these games.
“They are a youth team, in the sense that they have very young strikers, from the goalkeeper to the centre-back, with Morata up front. They are a very small team in terms of height.”
Yamal's response
The teenager was asked about Lehmann’s comments, and he said that he expected a German to support his country. However, he added that they will show their quality come match day.
“Well, we’ve already said that all these things help us to come out more motivated. In the end, what is he going to say? He is German; he is going to want to help his national team but, well, it will be seen on the pitch that we will show whether we are small and inexperienced.”
Spain play Germany on Friday, the 5th of July, in the quarter-final of their European Championship match.
