Young Africans Sports Club (Yanga) has revealed its ambitious plans to construct its own stadium, with a long-term partnership being sought with three local banks - NMB, CRDB, and NBC.

This exciting announcement was made by the club's president, Engineer Hersi Said, during the club's Annual General Meeting held in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.

Engineer Hersi Said informed the gathering that Yanga is currently finalizing the necessary paperwork for the proposed partnership with the three banks.

The aim of this collaboration is to secure financial support for the construction of a modern stadium at the club's headquarters situated on Jangwani Street in the Kariakoo area of Dar es Salaam.

The visionary president emphasized that the planned stadium will adhere to CAF (Confederation of African Football) standards, ensuring that it meets the requirements for hosting international football matches and other prestigious events.

This move showcases Yanga's commitment to developing top-tier facilities that can rival some of the best stadiums in the region.

“Soon, we are going to create a proposal ready to be submitted at these banks for the sake of assisting us to construct our own modern stadium,” he said.

“It is going to be a CAF standard facility,” he added.

Furthermore, as part of the partnership agreement, the three banks will act as agents for membership registration.

Hersi also revealed that Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC raised up to Tsh7b, approximately UGX10b from sponsors last season.

Young Africans, who have announced a new head coach in Argentine Miguel Angel Gamondi, hope to pick up from last season and perform better, especially in the CAF Champions League, where they expect to reach the group stages.

Tiimu ya Wanainchi’ also hopes to continue dominating the domestic scene, where they have won back-to-back trebles under former coach Nabi Nasreddine.
