The tactician exits after leading the club to huge success both in the league and in domestic competition.

Tanzania Mainland Premier League giants Yanga SC have announced the departure of their head coach, Nasreddine Nabi.

The coach and the club have parted ways by mutual consent after the Tunisian requested for his contract not be renewed.

"The management of Yanga SC would like to inform the public that the club has reached an agreement to part ways with head coach Nasreddine Nabi after the coach requested that his contract not be extended," Yanga announced.

"The contract between the club and coach Nabi was coming to an end after the conclusion of the season."

The club made an approach and hoped to extend the coach’s deal, but the Premier League-winning tactician asked to leave Timu ya Wananchi.

"After the expiration of that contract, the club met with coach Nabi with the hope of extending the deal, but Nabi requested to leave in order to face a new challenge.

"While he was Yanga’s head coach, Nabi managed to win two Premier League titles, two Azam Federation Cups, two Community Shields, and lead the club to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup."

With former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane being linked with the club, Yanga have started the process of appointing a new man to take charge of the club.

"The management of Yanga SC is thankful to coach Nabi for his contribution to the success of the club during his stint and wishes him all the best in his endeavors," the statement concluded.

"The club has kicked off the process of recruiting a new coach who is going to succeed Nabi."

Nabi has been linked with South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, while other reports indicate he has offers from Saudi Arabia.
