Yaya Toure talks about curse and Manchester City's Champions League ambitions.
Yaya Toure has dissociated himself from talks about his former agent placing a curse on Manchester City that is supposed to prevent them from lifting the Champions League.
The agent in question is Dimitri Seluk, who used to represent the Ivorian, and with Manchester City at the business end of the UCL, talks of the supposed curse resurfaced, with certain reports quoting the agent as saying the curse has been lifted.
What Toure said
The City legend has now come out to clear the air via his Twitter account, rubbishing the reports, which he deemed stereotypic, and distancing himself from Seluk, with whom he claims they no longer share an agent-client relationship.
Toure does not want to be associated with such talks and believes that preconceptions about African black magic are damaging. He also demands that the spread of rumours that connect him to "curses" stop.
“My former agent is being quoted by the media about a ‘curse’,” Toure said on Twitter.
