Super Eagles and Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi revealed the Nigerian trait he loves the most.

Super Eagles ace Alex Iwobi was asked about what he loved about Nigerians, and he highlighted their loudness and flamboyance that make them stand out amongst other nationalities.

Iwobi, 28, was born and raised in England, however, has always been connected to his Nigerian roots, hence, he chose to play for the Super Eagles at a time when he was courted by the Three Lions.

What Iwobi said

The Fulham midfielder was speaking on the KissFresh podcast, where he discussed a lot of “Nigerianness.” The former Arsenal midfielder expressed his love, sense of pride and patriotism for the country.

He was then asked what specific Nigerian trait he loved, and without needing to think about it too deeply, he answered, “You can spot a Nigerian from a mile away.”

“Our mannerisms are so Nigerian, like. Especially Yoruba people. Yoruba people are so loud, man,” Iwobi added glowingly.

He was then asked about what he loved about the country itself, and he said, “My favourite thing about the country is that everyone is so welcoming. We look after our own, we make sure everyone is okay, it's like one big family.”

“So like, even though someone is doing well, they'll try to give back to the community. Every footballer that I'm with, they always try to give back to where they come from. It's an amazing thing; we are not just footballers; we like to bring everyone up with us; it's so nice.”

Meanwhile, Alex Iwobi was named in Finidi George's squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic on June 3rd and 7th, respectively.
