Jose Mourinho has addressed critics questioning his impact at Fenerbahce following a shaky start to his tenure.
Mourinho downplays slow start
After 11 matches, the Portuguese manager has secured seven wins, but two losses and two draws, including a painful defeat in the Istanbul derby have left Fenerbahce with a shaky start to the season.

The loss to Galatasaray has left Fenerbahce five points off the top in the league, while their Champions League dream ended against Lille in the qualifying stages, raising eyebrows among fans and pundits.
When asked why the famous "Mourinho effect" hasn't been seen yet, the seasoned manager was quick to respond.

"What is the Mourinho effect? Trophies, cups," he stated, adding, "You cannot win trophies in September.
“There are no trophies in September. How can you see the effect?" Mourinho pointed out that while his team has faced setbacks, it's still early days.
Mourinho recounts past success
Despite the disappointment of the slow start to the season, Mourinho remains confident that his influence will be felt later in the season as with his former clubs.

Mourinho took the opportunity to remind everyone of his proven track record of winning trophies wherever he goes.
"In every club where I have been, I won cups," he said, noting that the only exception was his time at Tottenham, where he was sacked just two days before a cup final.

The Fenerbahce boss remained firm in his belief that his real impact will be seen when it matters most, concluding, "I cannot win titles in September, I am sorry."
Although it is only September, Mourinho already faces an uphill battle to fulfill his promise of winning a trophy at the end of the campaign after falling behind Galatasaray who beat Fenerbahce to the league title last season despite the latter finishing with 99 points.
