ESPN pundit Luis Miguel Echegaray has slammed Manchester United for signing Rasmus Hojlund over Victor Osimhen.
The Red Devils signed Højlund from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 in a five-year deal after an impressive campaign with the Italian giants.
However, since his move, he has failed to hit the ground running and has only managed 18 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions.
His performance has led to fans questioning his signing when they could have signed the Super Eagles star for almost the same amount they paid for the Denmark forward.

Miguel questions Man United recruitment
Luis Miguel Echegaray has claimed that Hojlund is not the solution to Man United's goalscoring issues and has urged the club to bring in a marquee centre forward.
Speaking on ESPN FC Live, he said: "There's no denying his talent, but the biggest criticism of United from my side, leaving aside Erik Ten Hag leaving aside the management, is the recruitment.
"You had options to go into players like Victor Osimhen, even try to target someone like Ollie Watkins, but you said no, I'm going to scout somebody else, I'm going to go in another direction.
"There's no denying the talent of Højlund, but is he going to be your main guy, that's up to Rúben Amorim to decide, but in my opinion the next step for United is to find a striker that can really echo and imitate everything that is being produced going forward.”
Echegaray has slammed United for not signing Osimhen from Napoli when he was available in the transfer market.
The Red Devils had the opportunity to sign Osimhen but opted for Højlund, who was signed for 72 million pounds.
The Super Eagles striker ended up leaving in a loan deal to Galatasaray and has hit the ground running, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in eight appearances.
Meanwhile, Man United's new manager, Amorim, has landed at Manchester United and fired Ruud Van Nistelrooy on his first day as coach.
