The Arsenal fan was not happy with what he saw from Leno and his Fulham teammates against Manchester City.

An Arsenal supporter has turned on former goalkeeper Bernd Leno after his nightmare performance for Fulham in their 4-0 thrashing by Manchester City.

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the Gunners had hoped the German shot-stopper, who spent four years at the Emirates, could do his old club a favour in the title race by getting a result against City.

However, Leno endured a torrid afternoon as Pep Guardiola's side ran riot at Craven Cottage to return to the Premier League summit.

The result and the performance of the goalkeeper prompted a furious reaction from one Arsenal fan, who launched a scathing attack on Leno and questioned his commitment to the club.

The angry supporter posted on X: "You LIED about your goalkeeping, you LIED about your saves, you LIED about your love for Arsenal, you LIED about your kindness."

"You LIED about the messages, and your skillset, all is perjury."

The rant did not go down well with many, who felt it was an over-the-top response after one bad game from Leno against high-quality opposition.

The 32-year-old German had actually spoken warmly about keeping in touch with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta ahead of the City clash.

But his flap at a Josko Gvardiol strike and poor positioning for a couple of the goals have drawn ire from a section of the Gunners fanbase.

While the outburst seems excessive, it does highlight the tension and high expectations in the Arsenal camp as they scrap with City for the title.

With Leno's Fulham failing to pull off an unlikely shock, many Gunners fans fear it could prove a pivotal result in the run-in.

Arteta's side know they likely can't afford any further slip-ups after being leapfrogged by their rivals.

All eyes will now turn to how Arsenal respond when they take on Manchester United next on Sunday at Old Trafford.
